I recently attended a networking event held by the Air Force Academy Graduates Association. At these events, the goal is to meet as many as you can and exchange cards, drink a few and remember the good old days at the Academy. I always ask someone new " What did you do in the Air Force and What are you doing now?" Quite often, someone replies, "I was a Budget Officer in the Air Force and now I'm a Financial Advisor."  To which I usually reply, "I was a Doctor in the Air Force and now I am a Financial Advisor!" Then, "Follow me on this". "The two things people want out life is Health and Wealth. To achieve their Wealth/Security people gather around them advisors like you who help them invest their limited amounts of Time, $$ and Energy regarding career choices, investments and financial priorities. Likewise, people need a someone like me to help them invest their limited amounts of Time, $$ and Energy regarding their health.  That's what I do. Doctor in Latin means Teacher so my job is to teach people how to best invest Time, $$ and Energy regarding Nutrition, Exercise and Skin Care!" If you read my definition of the "The Inside Outside Way of Life!" it is worded in financial terms. No playing around at Inside Outside! Our Strategies are Sound, Timewise & have Great Value short term and long term!! Any investment you make in yourself to maintain your health, take it to a new level or regain your health is definitely a wise allocation of your precious resources of Time, $$ and Energy.  Make the decision today!  Invest in You! You and those you love will reap the rewards!

"Stress is a Killer" The evidence is piling up that even with a good diet and exercise most of us will suffer from stress related problems, such as sleep disturbances, which may lead to acute but most often chronic diseases. Dr. Christian first became aware of HeartMath in the late 90's when he experimented with their early software, entitled FreezeFrame.  Dr. Christian has followed them closely and HeartMath has now evolved into a major developer of techniques and software/hardware to help us deal with stress.  Dr. Christian is currently enrolled in a HeartMath Interventions course which leads to certification as a HeartMath Therapist.  We will be offering HeartMath techniques and training to our clients as part of their programs by the Fall of 2013!  In the meanwhile please look at the Video of the Month, "Stress, Portrait of a Killer", a National Geographic Special featuring Robert Sapolsky Phd. of Stanford University.  We also have copies of the DVD which you may borrow to better understand the impact of stress.  Do It!

This weekend Inside Outside will provide DXA Body Composition Scans for about 15 Camp Gladiator Members!  We will be doing scans at the start and finish of their fitness boot camp. The mission of Camp Gladiator is to live adventurously and to positively impact the physical fitness and ultimately the lives of as many people as possible.

Everyone is aware that Businesses and Organizations use Web Analytic Tracking Services to monitor their web site traffic for marketing purposes.  Inside Outside uses Google Analytics, Clicky and recently started using Revolver Maps for tracking services. The Top Ten Countries are United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Philippines and Italy.  We recently added #97 the Syrian Arab Republic!  The map shows hits over the past 10 months, monitored by Revolver Maps, 97 Countries and over 7908  Visits. Inside Outside welcomes Mary Krenek and Kristen Guerra as our UTSA Interns for Summer 2013.  Mary, a Kinesiology Major, visited Inside Outside last year as an observer.   Kristen is the first Community Health Major we have accepted.  We are excited to have these future health care providers with us for the summer and to share with them The Inside Outside Way of Life!

Member Spotlight: Bob and Frances Jean Sunderland! Friends & Supporters of Inside Outside

We Salute Inside Outside Clients Bob and Frances Jean Sunderland! They have been devoting 30 minutes, twice a week, to Hi-Lo Strength training since 2006!  Over the decades, Bob and Frances Jean have helped the community grow by way of Frances Jean’s Father, and several other land owners, who donating almost 200 acres of land to what we know as the Medical Center.  Bob and Frances Jean  owned a Life Insurance company whose headquarters were in San Antonio for 56 years. Eventually the Life insurance Company was bought by American National but they still invest in commercial real estate. They also spend their time managing investments in two Ranch Properties in Texas that have been in family ownership throughout the years.  One of their properties is 1,500 acre McMarr Ranch, in Waring, Texas, for family and friends. The other is Trinity Ranch near Batesville, Texas which is a hunting ranch.

Bob and Frances Jean have been happily married for 55 years and surely their 5 Grandchildren help motivate them to maintain their strength!  They travel every summer for a few months to Estes Park Colorado where they have a second home and have their families visit during their summer break. They are members and supporters of University United Methodist Church.  We are blessed to have these kind and gentle friends as part of the Inside Outside Family!

Since it's inception, an important mission at Inside Outside has been to make

a difference in our community.  The best way we have found to do this is to

make contributions to Non-Profit organizations through silent auctions at their

annual fund raising events, seminars, health fairs or direct donations.  We would

Inside Outside had their own table and donated several items to the Silent Auction of the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame Gala Celebration on 15 Feb 13 at the Alamodome. Special guests at our table were Mark and Beth Bender, son and daughter of Ralph Bender, personal friend and long time supporter of Inside Outside, Ruby Muza and Jody Ognowski!  Ralph expired in December 2012 was a founder of San Antonio Sports. He was honored at the event along with his wife Liz Fritz.   Inside Outside Client Susan Blackwood was honored for her contributions as prior President of San Antonio Sports. Ed Whitacre, prior Inside Outside client was inducted into the Hall of Fame!
